About Me

​                                      I have been photographing since I was 19 years old.
                                      I studied photography at AKTO (Athens Artistic and                                                          Technological Association) in 1979, and at the Stavrakos School, cameraman department, 1987-1990.

    Photographer for the PUBLIC POWER CORPORATION (PPC) (1996-2019, where I retired). Head of the PPC Photography Department. 
At PPC, I mainly dealt with industrial photography, and secondarily with the landscape of wetlands, portraiture, and reportage. 

    My photographic works have been presented in publications, exhibitions, books and frames of PPC, also in the magazine "Antilipsis". 
Active in photography clubs such as "Photophiles" and "Photo Researchers". 
I have attended seminars on visual aesthetics, further developing my understanding of the relationship between people and their visual representation with Kostas Balafas, Frangiskos Bizas, Platon Rivelis, Stefanos Paschos.
   
    At the same time, I was involved in nature, street, urban landscape, portrait photography in 135,120 and panoramic 135 and 6x17 formats. 
I have been involved in black and white photography since 1978 with darkroom experience. I have participated in group exhibitions in Athens and the province. 
Solo exhibition in 2016 on the theme of landscape. 

    At the core of my work lies the human being — with an emphasis on the working man, the people of the countryside, their movement through the streets, and the lives of those on the margins, such as the Roma. I also photograph the details of coastlines, trees, still life, abandoned settlements and abandoned factories. 
 
    When I photograph people, I often communicate with them, learning the history of their place and the specifics of their occupation. This helps me to photograph some other aspects of their lives.

     I serve photography with passion, it gives me strength and the ability to improve myself. PHOTOGRAPHY is my way of life, expression, discovery, awareness.
